We'll scream at the top of our lungs .

BEWARE : THIS IS A REALLY LONG POST CONTAINING OF WHAT HAPPENED TO RACHEL NG AND WHAT HAPPENED DURING SMK SERI SAUJANA'S TALENT HUNT '09. READ AT OWN RISK.

i woke up at 7AM and got prepared only to know that i was gonna be lateee for the short meeting before Talent Hunt started so i rushed. reached school about 5 minutes late. just in time for the short meeting. everyone gathered on the basketball court. i was feeling dang sleepy and blur that time. if it wasn't for Johnathan Ng, Andrew Ng's brother, who joked a lot and made all of us laugh, i would've looked at the participants when they register with a " zombie-fied " face.
we got our tags during the short meeting and in Math tuition the other night, Nicky and i almost had a bet on what colour the ribbons - used as our strings for the tags - were gonna be. he said black and it really was black in colour. thankfully, i didn't bet with him (: they ran out of black ribbons so i had the white ones with Kelly and Marie. started our work after the short meeting. the participants' room was in the bilik by-pass 1, opposite the left side of the stage. they were tons of tags for the contestants

Katherine and i got assigned to jobs in an instant. her job was to check each contestants' names who arrived and my job was to ask them like; how many microphones they needed for their performances, do they have a CD for their performances or - if they're a band - what and how many instruments were they playing.
so much for not talking to people pfft. well, during Math tuition a day before Talent Hunt, Kath asked me to follow her around to ask the contestants questions. i told her i can follow but i ain't talking to anybody. but i ended up talking to strangers. it was successful :D there was this one band i was afraid to ask them because they looked unfriendly - most of the participants i talked to were friendly to the max. Jing Yi took over instead. turned out they were her friends :D

the contestants started arriving and soon before we knew it, Kath and i were sweating and were already kinda tired. soundcheck session started. we snuck out the by-pass room to sneak a peek at the performers. we were expecting tons of awesome performers as Kath and i heard them practicing in the participants' room and they were omgwtfbbq awesome. we were literally surrounded by music when we were in the room asking contestants questions.

i was asked by Elizabeth to take care of Sally's bag then by Nicky and lastly, Min Chun. actually, Sally herself asked Min Chun to take care of her bag for her but he went, "Why can't she take care of it?" so Sally asked me to take care of it. all of us were watching the performances until there was this band who went up. Nicky and the others shouted "Go Dougy!" while Nicholas yelled, "You people fail in life! Booo" for his own entertainment. Jing Yi hit his head for that LOL there was strictly no boo-ing yesterday.

i was watching the performances when suddenly Jing Yi asked me to go search for a participant so i have to ask Clarence to take care of it. before we even realize what we were doing, Katherine and i were assigned again to search for the participants according to their numbers and ask them to get ready for the performance.

we were running around not long after that. sweating and exhausted. there were actually 42/43 performances. i mistaken. so, i was asking Katherine was it the semi-final round when we were n the middle of the first round. then when it was the ending of the first round, i thought it was the last round. i lost track of time and i didn't know there were that many performances. after the first round, it was lunch time. ate kuey teow with Kath in the PA room. it was the only room to relax. the by-pass room was packed and the side of the stage was also crowded.
the PA room was empty and there was a fan (:

we chatted with Nicky, Andrew Ng and Jun Weng for a while before going out for our duties again. Zhen Gang was asking how many more performances were there left. i was already suspecting he was gonna perform Latin when he asked that. i confirmed my intuition when he was wearing his dancing shoes. he did perform. everyone went crazy LOL

the top 15 were announced later on and the semi-finals began. ran around searching for contestants again then soon after that, Kath and i were slacking. actually, i asked Kar Mun & Jing Yi if they needed any more help. both of them said no so we slacked :D heard LaVida, a band, sang When You Said Nothing At All and Christopher & Katherine had a duet of Butterfly Fly Away. it was calming after all the work. it was finally the top 3 performers. Kath went back so i sat with Kelly, Marie, Jasmine and Allan in the audience since there weren't anymore job for me to do.

we were talking about how goodlooking the guys were - excluding Allan - when they were performing. cheered a lot. Maget Daniel was the Judges' Favourite Performer. his beatboxing was dang chun. another guy performed I'm Yours and the audience literally clapped and sang together with him. that was cool.

Nik - an awesome female singer - got all of our attention and support. but unfortunately, she didn't win. 3rd prize went to American Idiot. when Jing Yi announced the 2nd prize, everyone cheered and i could hear girls screaming the most. Black Heart won. the band who performed The Great Escape. of course they have mostly girl fans. they're super duper goodlooking, hot and talented! that did not come from me :D
Kelly and i were sitting behind Allan & Jasmine so when we screamed at the top of our lungs - we really enjoyed their performance - Allan closed both his ears and called us to shut up because we were obviously very loud.
1st prize went to some Malay band we didn't know. after the whole event ended, i went to the participants' room to clean up the rubbish while the band members talked. there was this band who started singing I'm Yours with Andrew G. soon, everyone in the room was singing along. even the other band members who didn't know each other sang along. they were mostly boys in the room so the boys sang only. but their voices combined together, it was so cool. not to mention, a guy was strumming on his guitar for the melody. it was like the little after show performance. went back after that and k.o-ed once i reached home.
hopefully they'll sell the VCDs for the whole show. i missed out several performances. oh and the PA System stuffs were soooo awesome :D there were much more that happened but i think i shall stop already. and finally, here are the pictures [ credits to Jasmine for stage pictures ] :

Andrew G., singing Everything.

from right; Christopher, Timothy and Romeo. Cheryl was at the piano. they performed Falling Slowly.

okay, i think this post is a little bit too long. so i'm gonna post the picts in the next post :D
